Ceylon Productions + Silk Road Partners

Ceylon Productions, founded in 2011, is a timeless boutique in the streets of Galle that offers authentic travel poster art and fine prints to transport you into a different era with their vintage aesthetic element.

As a client of our Essential Accountancy service, we assisted in their financial onboarding process by integrating their real-time sales data with Xero, the online accounting system used by Silk Road. Our team integrated Hike – the point of sales system currently used by Ceylon Productions – with Xero, to ensure real-time sales, customer, and inventory data is recorded on both systems.

This integration has allowed both Ceylon Productions and Silk Road Financial Services to go paperless in the accounting process.

Ceylon Productions is also engaged with Silk Road’s Company Secretarial function for governance and corporate administration.

What Media + Silk Road Partners

What Media (Private) Limited Sri Lanka acts as the hub connecting the marketing and publishing agencies What Media (Pty) Limited in Australia and What Media Limited in the UK. With a 19-year track record in the industry, their client base includes popular brands such as British Balls Magazine, The Australia Working Holiday Magazine, among many others.

From Silk Road’s inception, What Media has been a core client, using Silk Road’s Company Secretarial and Financial Services. The Financial Services team provides What Media with bookkeeping services, ad hoc financial statements, budgeting and drafting of audit accounts.

With What Media operating a virtual, international model, with operations in Sri Lanka, the UK and Australia, the Financial Services team has been instrumental in helping to streamline the accounting functions across international borders to deliver a clear and current picture of the company’s financial accounts.

As the relationship between our companies continues to deepen, Silk Road’s Client Relationship team has scheduled a regular fortnightly meeting with the What Media team for a review and update of all financially related matters.

All good strategic decisions are made on the basis of sound financial knowledge, and over many years, Silk Road Partners has provided the information that has allowed What Media to develop their business in line with their founders’ vision.

Tea Tree Villa + Silk Road Partners

Tea Tree Villa, set on the beachfront at Ahangama in the south coast of Sri Lanka, is a luxurious, modern 5 bedroom villa. It is perfectly situated only 1.5 hours from Colombo, 30 minutes from Galle Fort, 10 minutes to Welligama and 20 minutes from Mirissa. Some of Sri Lanka’s most famous surf spots are a stone’s throw away.

As with any beachfront villa, the assets at Tea Tree are constantly being challenged by the natural elements. Silk Road Real Estate’s Property Management team works with experienced sub-contractors to put in place preventative maintenance measures to ensure all major components of the villa are taken care of, on a scheduled basis. On top of the cost savings brought about by averting sizable disasters, these steps ensure that on short notice the villa is ready to welcome guests. Furthermore, the team conducts regular inspections of the villa and develops in-depth Owners Reports using an online reporting system.

Complementing the above service, Silk Road’s Company Secretarial Services, Financial Services, and Human Resource Outsource functions assist the directors and shareholders of Tea Tree Villa, holistically shaping their investment in the country.

Lanka Environment Fund + Silk Road Partners

The Lanka Environment Fund (LEF) founded in 2019 works to conserve Sri Lanka’s flora and fauna through providing grants to existing conservation groups that work on the ‘frontlines’. Acting as a conduit for international and local funding, the LEF has successfully mobilized approximately $60,000 towards conservation initiatives in Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the LEF also helped secure a further $415,000 grant towards a transboundary marine conservation project in the Indian Ocean.

Silk Road Partners has been working closely with LEF since mid-June 2020 to provide them with Company Secretarial services, a critical role in an organization that values transparency and accountability. Services include documentation of Steering Committee meetings, offering advice on financial audits, liaising between relevant local stakeholders on behalf of the LEF, and ensuring all its paperwork is up to date in order to allow the LEF to function as one of the island’s premier conservation funding organizations.
